Film questions:

What type of live does a war photographer have?
i would say it takes a certain person to be a war photographer! You have to learn how to handle with you subjects and how to handle the hole situation
I think all war photographers are kind of freaks

What type of subject matter does Nachtwey seem to focus on?
I would say proberty and destruction

Action shoot

i would clearly say that it is an action shoot because the action is frozen in the picture!
the shutter speed is 1/500 second

I havent shoot my action shoot yet
I will use some special techniques like framing
and i will see that i can get some action emotins and expressions

Decisive Moment

I would say that i like picture nummber 29 pretty much.
CVI=Man walking down the street
I would say it is an environmental portrait because it looks like the man is doing what he normaly does in his life nothing is posed

Techniques: framing(trees) leading lines

I would say it is a desisive moent because it was for sure not plant!
HE decided to shoot this peron in the picture when the person was turning around suddenly

Portrait intro

Formal: Often shots were people are perfectly nice dressed, they are looking straight into the camera and possing their photo.
Informal: Peole who are not acting their picture. This type of portrait can show the people for example in their normal life
Environmental: Poeple in their normal life not acting or possing anything

The eyes: important for the viewer! They tell us something about the thoughts of the guy in the picture
The background: Tells very often a little story about the person. Is a way to let the person look like how they want to.
The lighting: Creates mood!!! Can make a person look like a scary monster or very happy

#21 The Blunt Reality of War in Vietnam” appears on the November 26, 1965 cover of LIFE. Paul Schutzer’s photograph of a Vietcong prisoner with his eyes and mouth taped shut captured the tumultuous war. Schutzer was one of LIFE’s best photographers, but was killed on assignment while covering the Six-Day War in 1967.

I like this picture very much because of the composition another reason that i like the picture is that it tells a story.
You can see the desperate of the men in the middle and you can guess how american soldiers did treat the guys from vietnam

nice picture!!

COVER HISTORY

Early magazine covers did not have huge pictures on it or anything, just words. I would say it was just like a bookcover. The poster cover 1890-1960's was the only real cover people have seen They were big photos as well. Pictures married to type introduced cover lines as well as new ideas for picture placement on the covers. In the forest of words more words were shown on magazine covers, as well as more enticing pictures to attract readers.
