About Thomas J. Kelly

Tom Kelly had mixed feelings about winning the Pulitzer Prize for his photographs of a family hostage crisis in Pottstown, Pa. But no matter what, he said, "I was a news photographer and I needed to be there." Kelly began as a freelance photographer for the Montgomery Post in Norristown, Pa. He became a staff photographer for Today's Post in Valley Forge before joining The (Pottstown) Mercury. He has been recognized by the National Press Photographers Association and has won other state and national awards. Today, Kelly lives in Pottstown and works as a freelance photographer.

Criteque: I like his most famous picture because the shoot was acidentally!!
It shows great emotions and it creates a kind of flair because it is black and white!
